This was intended to show up on my Podcast but I somehow totally forgot about it, I made this towards the end of 2010 so the music is still fresh, no worries!

2010 Hot 100 Radio EXCLUSIVE Urban/HipHop Mixset

So last year I experimented a few times with various forms of music. I did a dubstep mixset I even played around with rock remixes and some modern 80s remixes however one mixset I did that was way off the mark for me was this one.

The Hot 100 Radio is a station that I have been working with for quite sometime now and has had more than a handful of exclusive mixsets of mine. I have shared some in the past but since we are in 2011 and I plan on hooking them up with even newer exclusives time to share some of the older ones.

This is the full hip hop mixset I did, I am NOT a hip hop DJ but I fooled around with some remixes of my own and wanted to put them into a set format. This will be the first and last time I mix hip hop in a set format to download. I had a blast making this but its not in me to stay on this path musically.

I want to thank Hot 100 for all the support and hope they got a lot of rotation outta this mix! Enjoy!

Filthy & Famous - Dirty Dutch House A Year MIXED In Review

I want to thank everyone for such a wonderful year with all the support and excitement for what I enjoy doing, DJing. Although I have done my own remixes and reworks over the year I owe a lot of inspiration to the Dutch house producers in 2010.

After hearing some of the great creative sounds these guys brought us in 2010 it actually opened up my mind to other forms of house music I would have otherwise overlooked. This sound was my foundation for the entire year and allowed me to get a big more creative and focus on something that defined me as an artist.

I wanted to give you guys an extra special mixset to end the year with, something to remind you what my foundation is. I created a Dirty Dutch mixset over 2 hours long with lots of the biggest hits, some great new remixes as well as my own reworks. I wanted to make this a podcast but it was just too long to do that.

So enjoy this gift from me to you, some of my biggest bangers from this past year as well as some versions you may not have heard.

SPOTLIGHT ON - House Of Fur Series

House Of Fur Volume 1:

I was extremely excited about doing this series of mixes. I have wanted to do something more related to just pure house music without all the frills so I came up with this concept. The first installment of this series I really wanted to create the feeling of being in a smaller club, sweaty bodies, shirts off & lots of heavy dancing. I didnt really have any inspiration from other djs or producers for this mix but I did take from the elements of tribal house as a cherry on top. I knew going into this series I wanted to make this a staple of my podcast, I am glad I took the chance to make this happen.








House Of Fur Volume 2:

So coming into the second volume of this project I wanted to fall away from the tribal elements and go more into soulful house. Lots of great elements of this mix were inspired from 90s house that got me into DJing in the first place. Its hard to believe but when I first started DJing and remixing my biggest inspiration was disco house. I loved the feel of the wavy basslines over the snare and kick drums. I selected the tracks for this mix to create that same tight club feel from the first but expanding into more of a soul vibe than a tribal vibe.

Volume 3 will be coming out in January and I am not sure exactly where it will take me. I am sure the foundation of house will be there but where will I draw inspiration? Electro? Dubstep? Progressive? Speed Garage? LOL who knows.. I guess you will have to stay tuned to see where the House Of Fur travels to next!
